First Harvest

When we purchased our home nearly 5 years ago it had two fruit trees planted in the backyard. Since we both seem to be missing any sort of green thumb gene these trees have been virtually ignored. This week, however, I walked past our italian prune tree to discover a good amount of untouched and perfectly ripe fruit! Aren't they pretty?

So I grabbed a bowl and picked away. Some of them we ate fresh and the rest I made in to baby food for Elli. She like playing with a prune while I worked and I enjoyed feeling quite resourceful!
